SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
25 ILCS 115/5 new

    Amends the General Assembly Compensation Act. Provides that no public funds, including, but not limited to, funds appropriated for the pay and allowances of members of the General Assembly, shall be used to create a payout of money to any person involved with and relevant to allegations and investigations of sexual harassment by a member of the General Assembly. Makes conforming changes. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning State government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The General Assembly Compensation Act is amended
5by adding Section 5 as follows:
 
6    (25 ILCS 115/5 new)
7    Sec. 5. Prohibition on sexual harassment payoffs. No public
8funds, including, but not limited to, funds appropriated for
9the pay and allowances of members of the General Assembly,
10shall be used to create a payout of money to any person
11involved with and relevant to allegations and investigations of
12sexual harassment by a member of the General Assembly.
 
13    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
14becoming law.
