| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Sections |
| 5 | | 10-20.60 and 34-18.53 as follows:
|

| 7 | | Sec. 10-20.60. School closure notice. Whenever a school |
| 8 | | board makes a determination to close a school for at least one |
| 9 | | school year, the school board shall give at least 60 days' |
| 10 | | notice of the closure to all affected students, parents, and |
| 11 | | legal guardians.
