SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
20 ILCS 210/7  from Ch. 127, par. 1707

    Amends the State Fair Act. Provides that the Department of Agriculture may establish locally held bank accounts in adequately protected financial institutions to receive and disburse security deposits for the rental of facilities at each State fairground during non-fair time periods. Effective July 1, 2017.

1    AN ACT concerning State government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The State Fair Act is amended by changing
5Section 7 as follows:
 
6    (20 ILCS 210/7)  (from Ch. 127, par. 1707)
7    Sec. 7. During the period when each State Fairgrounds is
8not used for the annual State Fair, the Department shall make
9all efforts to promote its use by the public for purposes that
10the facilities can accommodate. The Department may charge and
11collect for the use of each State Fairgrounds and its
12facilities. The Department may negotiate and enter into
13contracts for activities and use of facilities. The criteria
14for such contracts shall be established by rule.
15    The Department may establish locally held bank accounts in
16adequately protected financial institutions to receive and
17disburse security deposits for the rental of facilities at each
18State fairground during non-fair time periods.
19    The Department also shall have the authority to arrange,
20organize, and hold events on each State Fairgrounds and in any
21facilities on each State Fairgrounds for any purpose that the
22facilities and State Fairgrounds can accommodate. The
23Department may charge and collect fees associated with the
