    Amends the Unified Code of Corrections. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning receiving procedures.

1    AN ACT concerning criminal law.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Unified Code of Corrections is amended by
5changing Section 3-8-1 as follows:
 
6    (730 ILCS 5/3-8-1)  (from Ch. 38, par. 1003-8-1)
7    Sec. 3-8-1. Receiving Procedures.
8    (a) The The Department shall establish one or more
9receiving stations for committed persons and for persons
10transferred under Section 3-10-11 and shall advise the sheriffs
11of the several counties of the location of such stations. In
12the execution of the mittimus or order for the commitment or
13transfer of a person to the Department, the sheriff shall
14deliver such person to the nearest receiving station of the
15Department. The sheriff shall also convey with such person at
16the time of delivery, the items under Section 5-4-1, and a
17record of the person's time, his behavior and conduct while
18under the sheriff's custody.
19    (b) The Department shall verify the identity of the person
20delivered before accepting custody and shall require delivery
21of the items under paragraph (a) of this Section or a statement
22of the reason why they cannot be delivered.
23    (c) The Department shall inventory and issue a receipt to

1such person for all money and other personal property not
2permitted to the possession of such person.
