1    AN ACT concerning government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. Property; conveyance. (a) The State of Illinois,
5through the Department of State Police, owed real estate
6located at 13863 S. Cicero Avenue, Crestwood, IL 60418, State
7of Illinois Site No. G0020, being the former location of the
8Illinois State Police District 4 Headquarters, further
9described as:
10    THE EAST 270 FEET OF THE WEST 320 FEET OF THE SOUTH 160
11    FEET OF THE NORTHWEST 1/4 OF SECTION 3, TOWNSHIP 36 NORTH,
12    RANGE 13, EAST OF THE THIRD PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, IN COOK
13    COUNTY, ILLINOIS, SUBJECT to easements, rights of way,
14    restrictions and covenants of record; Parcel ID No.
15    28-03-100-003-0000.
16    (b) The Village of Crestwood has previously acquired this
17property by quitclaim deed in accordance with "An Act
18concerning civil law", Public Act 99-0931.
19    (c) The quitclaim deed conveying the property to the
20Village of Crestwood stated that the real property shall be
21used by the Village for public purposes and if the real
22property is used for any other purpose other than a public
23purpose, then the title shall revert without further action to
24the State of Illinois.

1    (d) By reason of the substantial expenses incurred and to
2be incurred by the Village in rehabilitating the property and
3remediating environmental conditions on the property occurring
4during ownership by the State of Illinois, the requirement that
5the Village use the property for public purposes is hereby
6withdrawn and rescinded, and title shall not revert without
7further action to the State of Illinois upon conveyance of the
8property to a purchaser as determined by the Village of
9Crestwood. If the Village of Crestwood sells or leases the
10property for a private purpose, 50% of the proceeds remaining
11after deducting the costs incurred by the Village in preparing
12the property for lease or sale shall be paid to the State of
13Illinois.
 
14    Section 15. Recording. The Director of State Police shall
15prepare a quitclaim deed to release its interest in the real
16property and to release the reverter clause previously recorded
17as a lien against the property. The Director may also record a
18certified copy of this Act. Each quitclaim deed shall reference
19this Act and the reversionary language being rescinded. All
20documents shall be recorded in the County of Cook.
 
21    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
22becoming law.
