SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

 

Appropriates $250,000,000 from the General Revenue Fund to the Illinois Housing Development Authority for grants to municipalities with a population over 1,000,000 for the rehabilitation of vacant and abandoned residential housing.  Provides that funds may also be used for the acquisition of property and construction related to vacant and abandoned residential housing. Effective July 1, 2017.

    AN ACT concerning appropriations.

 

        Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

 

    Section 5. The sum of $250,000,000, or so much of that amount as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue Fund to the Illinois Housing Development Authority for grants to municipalities with a population over 1,000,000 for the rehabilitation of vacant and abandoned residential housing.  Funds may also be used for the acquisition of property and construction related to vacant and abandoned residential housing.

 

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, 2017.
