Biography: National City Bank, vice president; born Aug. 22, 1948, in Three Rivers, MI; B.A., history, Kalamazoo College, Kalamazoo, MI; he was awarded the 1998 Nathan Davis Award as State Legislator of the Year in the U.S. by the American Medical Association; he has recevied numerous "Legislator of the Year" awards, IL Primary Health Care Assn., IL Assn. of Park Districts, Assn. of Community Mental Health Authorities; IL Coalition for Developmental Disabilities; Guardian of Small Business Award, Champion of Free Enterprise, Farm Bureau Activator Awards. Current board service: Susan G. Komen Foundation, Institute of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, United Way of Illinois; has three children.
