Biography: A resident of the Chatham/Burnside community; Previously the Deputy Chief of Staff for City of Chicago Alderman Michelle A. Harris of the 8th Ward. Marcus is a cancer survivor since 2006 and has worked tirelessly to encourage families battling cancer and raise awareness, working with various health advocacy groups including the American Cancer Society. Has served his community in a variety of leadership roles, volunteering as director of various community programs and events. Marcus is a Bachelors of Science candidate at Chicago State University, majoring in Mathematics. Additionally, he is an IHSA sports official, licensed in both basketball and football.
