Biography: Born May 1, 1975 in Streator, Illinois; raised on the family farm in Livingston County; Graduated Woodland High School in 1993. Served in the Illinois Army National Guard (1992 - 2000). Graduated with Bachelors Degree in Political Science from Illinois State University (1998). Graduated from University of Illinois College of Law (2005). Entrepreneur/Attorney-part owner of a title company and partner in the law office of Bartell, Barickman & Powell, LLP. Served on Champaign County Farm Bureau Legislative Committee (2004-2008). Serves on the Champaign County Association of Realtors Government Affairs Committee. Selected to inaugural class of the 2012 Edgar Fellows Leadership Program. Resides in Champaign and is married to wife, Kristin. Son, August, was born in May 2011.
