Biography: Licensed Physical Therapist; Alumna of Wellesley College and University of Kansas (B.S. Education) M.B.A., Keller Graduate School of Management, Ph.D. Candidate in the School of Public Health at University of Illinois. A Professor and Department Chair at Chicago Medical School from 1981-2002, teaching physical therapy, health policy and ethics. A few of the awards she has received recently include Healthcare Council of Illinois' Legislator of the Year, Action For Children, Ounce of Prevention and Voices for Illinois Children's Early Learning Leader Award, Legislative Advocacy Award from Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence and 100% Voting Record Award from the Illinois Environmental Council. Married (husband, William).
