Section 672.200  Geographic Distribution and Number of Vendors

Prior to offering an application to a potential Applicant vendor, the Department shall utilize Participant/Vendor Ratios and shall consider Participant needs within geographical locations to determine if the Applicant meets the Regional Participant/Vendor Ratio to be eligible for selection.  The Participant/Vendor Ratio shall be calculated for the geographic regions within the State of Illinois (see Appendix A) to determine the need for WIC Retail Vendors within such regions.  Participant/Vendor Ratios for  Regions one through six shall be greater than 40:1.  Regions seven and eight shall be greater than 100:1.  Region nine shall be greater than 145:1.
