SECTION 575.250 DIVISIONS OF THE OFFICE


 

Section 575.250  Divisions of the Office

 

The responsibilities of the office are assigned to various divisions.  The head of each division is a division chief, appointed by the Attorney General.  Most divisions operate out of both the Springfield and Chicago offices.  Those that do not are indicated below.  The divisions with their sections, when applicable, are as follows:

 

a)         Administration, which has sections for General Support, Building Services and Investigative Services.

 

b)         Criminal Justice, which has sections for Prosecution Assistance, Financial Crimes and Criminal Appeals.

 

c)         Environmental Law.

 

d)         Inheritance Tax.

 

e)         Antitrust (located only in the Chicago office).

 

f)          Consumer Protection.

 

g)         Charitable Trusts and Solicitations.

 

h)         Franchise Disclosure (located only in the Springfield office).

 

i)          Revenue Litigation.

 

j)          Civil Appeals (located only in the Chicago office).

 

k)         Court of Claims, including a section for Administration of the Law Enforcement and Firemen's Compensation Benefits, which section is located only in Chicago.

 

l)          Civil Rights.

 

m)        Opinions (located only in Springfield).

 

n)         Public Aid (located in the Springfield office).

 

o)         Welfare Litigation (located in the Chicago office).

 

p)         General Law, including sections for Land Acquisition, Corporations, Securities and Accounts for Collection.

 

q)         Crime Victims.

 

r)          Medicaid Provider Fraud (located only in Chicago office).

 

s)         Special Litigation (located only in Chicago office).

 

t)          Attorneys assigned to represent various boards and agencies, including the Illinois Commerce Commission, the Industrial Commission and the Department of Labor regarding employment compensation funds.
