Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that any trailer sold in Illinois that is pulled by a motor vehicle which is not a truck tractor must have its identification number stamped into the steel frame on an area visible within 24 inches of the coupling and must have a metal identification tag affixed to the unit. Effective January 1, 2013.

House Floor Amendment No. 1
Deletes reference to:
625 ILCS 5/11-1432 new
Adds reference to:
625 ILCS 5/4-107from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 4-107

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that beginning January 1, 2013, a vehicle subject to registration that has not been fitted with an original manufacturer's vehicle identification number shall be affixed with a visible metal identification tag.
