Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Smoke Free Illinois Act. In the provision concerning definitions, provides that "smoke" or "smoking" does not include smoking that is associated with a recognized religious ceremony, ritual, or activity.

House Committee Amendment No. 1
Replaces everything after the enacting clause with the engrossed bill with the following changes. Provides that "smoke" or "smoking" does not include smoking that is associated with a native recognized religious ceremony, ritual, or activity by American Indians that is in accordance with the federal American Indian Religious Freedom Act (instead of associated with a recognized religious ceremony, ritual, or activity).

Governor Amendatory Veto Message
Recommends the deletion of a provision that places conditions on rulemaking authority.
