1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 5421
2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 5421 by replacing
3 everything after the enacting clause with the following:

4     "Section 5. The Rivers, Lakes, and Streams Act is amended
5 by changing Section 9 as follows:

6     (615 ILCS 5/9)  (from Ch. 19, par. 56)
7     Sec. 9. The ~~The~~ Department of Natural Resources shall
8 carefully investigate any and all complaints that may be made
9 that any person, company or corporation is attempting to
10 interfere with the free and unobstructed navigation of any of
11 the public bodies of water of the State, and if it finds that
12 the complaint is well founded, the Department shall enter such
13 order as may be required to prevent wrongful interference with
14 such navigation.
